What Are Hugger Ceiling Fans And Selecting Your Outdoor Ceiling Fan

Many homes and places of business have ceiling fans today and not surprisingly they have a great use of either keeping your home cool in the summer months or distributing the hot air in the winter months. There are many different styles and designs of ceiling fans today due to their popularity. One style of ceiling fan that has recently become a huge hit are hugger ceiling fans. Hugger fans are designed for low level ceilings and 'hug' the ceiling and so even if you have a low ceiling you can still enjoy the benefits of fans. If a ceiling is less than seven feet high then hugger ceiling fans are installed oppose to the regular type of fan. Hugger ceiling fans were created because normal fans placed on a ceiling lower than 7 feet can be dangerous and cause injury.

You can notice the difference between a standard ceiling fan and a hugger fan because a standard fan has a rod connecting the fixture to the ceiling whereas the hugger fans do not have this rod because they are flush to the ceiling. Having the fan flush to the ceiling means the paddles aren't as low which doesn't take up as much space of the room which is perfect for low ceilings. Hugger ceilings fans are also called low profile ceiling fans they are exactly the same product just a different term for them. Again the name low profile describes the fact that these fans stand out less because they are close to the ceiling and hence the term low profile.

This new invention of ceiling fan is truly amazing as it means people with low level ceilings in their home can still benefit from the fan, ordinarily the person would have to pay out for an air conditioning unit which costs a lot more than a fan but with these new designs they can affordably install hugger fans instead.

Selecting Your Outdoor Ceiling Fan

An outdoor fan is mainly used for homes in hotter countries with outdoor rooms. In hot countries because the climate is warm and the air is dry some of the rooms in the house are open and outdoors in which case some people opt to install an outdoor ceiling fan to keep cool. A ceiling fan is used in these types of situations as air conditioning units wont work because they need to be enclosed for the unit to work. A ceiling appliance fan is the only option to keep yourself cool in open aired rooms.

With indoor fans there are many different types and styles to choose from, the outdoor fan does not have as many options but there is still a choice so you will be able to find a ceiling fan to suit your home and your personal preference. If you have never owned a ceiling appliance fan before it is recommended to conduct a little research before making your final decision and purchasing one. Check out online all the available options and read up on some of the different manufacturers. Monte Carlos is a particular make of ceiling fan; they are beautifully designed and have a very contemporary feel to them. Or if you want to go for a more natural look the Minka Aire fan is the perfect option. The Minka Aire fan brand create many stunning ceiling fans including the Shangri La fan which have blades made from bamboo which gives it a very natural and earthy look. Choosing what style and look of ceiling fan you wish for your outdoor room will help you decide what make and brand to go for.

If you are unsure pop down to your local lighting company or fan appliance shop and ask in store for help and guidance. Have a list of requirements ready as this will help the sales assistant show you a ceiling fan perfect for your needs.
